Glaserworks Associate Speaks to National Town Builders
On October 13, 2017 glaserworks Associate Sari Lehtinen spoke to developer members of the National Town Builders Association (NTBA) during its Fall Roundtable. The event, Urban Retail: Creating an Active Retail Core as the Engine for Success, focused on the changing world of retail development – and how walkable, mixed-use, urban centers are flipping traditional development strategies upside down.
NTBA’s mission is “to serve builders and developers throughout the nation in an effort to build the very best traditional neighborhoods and town centers.”
Friday’s presentation gave an overview of the origins of New Urbanism and some of the unique characteristics of Mariemont; glaserworks Associate Sari Lehtinen spoke about the design of the urban infill condominium projects in Mariemont and developer Rick Greiwe talked about the importance of civic engagement in developing a new zoning type to accommodate his New Urbanist village.
